So… Why atsioneva? Most every thru-hiker (someone who walks the whole trail in one go) takes, or is given, a ‘trail-name’ that is commonly used instead of their real name. I’d rather pick my own, than have it picked for me… and the name “Sioneva” is one I have been using in different contexts, off and on, since I was about 19. Sioneva was a major character of mine back in my college roleplaying days. Sioneva is the handle I’ve used since 2006 when I began geocaching. And now, Sioneva’s going to hit the trail.
Besides, it’s always a kick, watching people try to pronounce it properly.

Trying my hand at dehydrating veggies today. Green beans and pearl onions, leftover from dinner a few days ago…
I’ve also started researching and spreadsheeting a list of trail towns, all along the route, and what their Saturday and Sunday Mass schedules will be. Priorities!
T-t-t-that’s all, folks!
So sound it out…how do you pronounce it? You said it the other day and I still forget! *sigh*
